Connecticut HB05401 revises the State Building Code to include provisions for energy conservation and the use of renewable energy resources. The code now mandates that newly constructed residential garages in any code adopted after July 8, 2013, include provisions for electric vehicle charging. The State Building Inspector and the Codes and Standards Committee, with approval from the Commissioner of Administrative Services, will adopt and administer the State Building Code based on a nationally recognized model building code.
