HB05266

Connecticut HB05266 adopts the Uniform Real Property Transfer on Death Act.

Connecticut HB05266 adopts the Uniform Real Property Transfer on Death Act, which allows property to be transferred to designated beneficiaries upon the transferor's death. The act specifies that the transfer is nontestamentary and can be revoked. It also outlines the capacity required to make or revoke such a deed, which is the same as that required to make a will. The act does not affect the transferor's or beneficiary's eligibility for public assistance, create a legal interest in the beneficiary, or subject the property to creditor claims.
