HB05245

An Act Concerning Municipal Electric Aggregation Programs.

Introduced·2/19/26

Municipal Electric Aggregation Programs Act establishes municipal aggregation programs for electric customers.

Municipal Electric Aggregation Programs Act allows municipalities to establish municipal aggregation programs for electric customers. A public aggregator, formed by one or more municipalities, can enter into agreements to facilitate the sale and purchase of energy products. Eligible customers can be automatically enrolled unless they opt out. The act outlines requirements for municipal aggregation plans, including customer communications, opt-out notices, and the provision of real-time meter data. The Public Utilities Regulatory Authority must approve the plans and any changes.
