Wyoming SF0075 amends the disposition of property for decedents without personal representatives or next of kin.
Wyoming SF0075 modifies the process for handling property found on a deceased person's body when there is no personal representative or next of kin. The coroner must first attempt to contact the deceased's next of kin. If the next of kin do not claim the property within 180 days, the coroner must sell the property at public auction or by other means. The proceeds, after paying burial expenses, are to be deposited with the state treasurer under the Uniform Unclaimed Property Act. Personal items valued at less than $50 and necessary items are exempt from this process.
