Wyoming HB0157 establishes a civil cause of action for parents whose rights are infringed by state entities.

Wyoming HB0157 provides parents with a legal remedy if their rights are infringed by the state or its agencies. This bill creates a civil cause of action for declaratory and injunctive relief against governmental entities for such infringements. It also waives the governmental claims notice requirements and mandates the awarding of reasonable attorney fees and costs to prevailing parents. The act becomes effective July 1, 2026.
