Blood donors must disclose COVID-19 vaccination status; blood marked and labeled; patients can request non-vaccinated donor blood.

The bill mandates that blood donors disclose if they have received a COVID-19 vaccine or an mRNA vaccine. Blood from such donors must be labeled accordingly. Patients receiving transfusions can request blood from non-vaccinated donors if available. The Department of Health is required to implement these provisions through necessary rulemaking. The act takes effect July 1, 2025.
