Meat processors can compost animal parts and sell the compost as fertilizer or soil conditioner.
Wyoming HB0150 allows federally or state-licensed meat processors to compost nonedible animal parts, excluding specified risk materials, and sell the compost as fertilizer or soil conditioner. Processors must register their compost with the Department of Agriculture. The act defines "specified risk materials" and sets an effective date of July 1, 2025.
