Wyoming HB0142 requires school districts to administer literacy screening assessments three times a year to students in kindergarten through grade three, and to students in grades four and five who scored below proficient in English language arts. Districts must report results to parents and place high-risk students in intensive intervention programs. Districts must also implement evidence-based core literacy instruction for all students. Districts must report annually on progress toward achieving the goal of 80% of students scoring low risk for reading difficulties.
