Complete·3/12/25

Wyoming HB0136 revises volunteer first responder health insurance eligibility and participation.

Wyoming HB0136 modifies the state employees' and officials' group insurance plan to exclude the Affordable Care Act from disqualifying volunteer first responders. It allows volunteer firefighters, emergency medical technicians, and search and rescue personnel to enroll in the group insurance plan within 31 days of enactment or after 90 days of volunteering. Volunteers must pay their entire premiums and provide annual proof of their status. Volunteer departments can contribute to the cost of premiums. The act takes effect immediately upon enactment.
