The bill mandates that decommissioned wind turbine blades and towers be disposed of on the site of the wind turbines in Wyoming. It prohibits the disposal of these components in municipal solid waste facilities. The disposal must comply with rules governing the disposal of wind turbine blades and towers in surface coal mining sites. The bill also requires the removal of all mechanical, electrical, and other materials from the blades and towers before disposal. The provisions apply to wind energy facilities with permits issued on or after July 1, 2025.
