Wyoming HB0046 amends the tax on electricity production to include solar and nuclear resources, effective January 1, 2027. The bill imposes an excise tax on the production of electricity from wind, solar, and nuclear resources. It repeals the existing tax on electricity produced from nuclear reactors and makes conforming amendments. The tax applies to each megawatt hour of electricity produced from these resources at the point of interconnection with an electric transmission line. The bill also revises compliance and collection procedures for reporting electricity production.
