West Virginia SB989 repeals the existing children’s health insurance advisory board and modifies the membership of the Medical Services Fund Advisory Council to comply with federal regulations. The council will consist of between 11 and 15 members, with most appointed by the state Medicaid Agency. The bill also creates the Medicaid Beneficiary Advisory Council, which will provide a forum for Medicaid recipients and their families to offer feedback on policy development and administration. Members of the Beneficiary Advisory Council will be reimbursed for travel expenses.
