The bill modifies the accrued benefit for members of the West Virginia Natural Resources Police Officer Retirement System who retire after July 1, 2026. It increases the benefit to two and three-fourths percent of the member's final average salary multiplied by the member's years of credited service. The Division of Natural Resources is required to make a one-time payment of $4,250,000 to the fund starting July 1, 2026. The board may reduce the required member or employer contributions if the benefits can be funded with a lesser contribution.
