West Virginia SB494 creates dedicated lottery tickets for fire departments, emergency medical services, schools, and roads.

West Virginia SB494 establishes new instant lottery scratch-off games to fund specific public interests. Beginning September 1, 2026, the Lottery Commission will create a fire department instant lottery scratch-off game, with profits deposited into the All County Fire Protection Fund. Similarly, an emergency medical services instant lottery scratch-off game will fund the Emergency Medical Services Equipment and Training Fund. A schools instant lottery scratch-off game will support the Innovation in Education Fund, and a roads instant lottery scratch-off game will benefit the State Road Fund.
