West Virginia SB476, the Selecting Neutral Accreditors Act, requires public institutions of higher education to review their accrediting agencies for any diversity, equity, and inclusion practices or procedures used in the past five years. If any such practices are found, institutions must change to an accrediting agency that does not use DEI practices. The bill defines "diversity, equity, and inclusion practice or procedure" as any initiative, policy, program, mandate, requirement, standard, metric, statistic, or other practice or procedure related to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
