West Virginia SB457 mandates the Department of Health to provide water filtration equipment to residents with unsafe water.

West Virginia SB457 requires the Department of Health to evaluate public water sources for contaminants. If unsafe levels of contaminants are found, the department must provide water filtration equipment to affected residents. Contaminants include per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances, microorganisms, inorganic chemicals, organic chemicals, and disinfection byproducts. The department may propose rules for legislative approval to implement this provision.
