Introduced·1/15/26
Intr Text

West Virginia SB422 allows towing companies to access driver registration information on demand.

West Virginia SB422 amends the Uniform Motor Vehicle Records Disclosure Act to allow West Virginia companies operating towing and recovery vehicles to quickly access driver registration information. This aims to limit charges to vehicle owners by reducing the time tow companies spend seeking owner information. The Division of Motor Vehicles will adjust its services by July 1, 2026, to meet this requirement.
