West Virginia SB123 mandates that an ambulance, if available, must be present at any middle school or high school football game under the West Virginia Secondary School Activities Commission. The law, known as The Alex Miller Law, is in memory of a Roane County football player who died during a game. It also requires an automated external defibrillator device and a posted emergency action plan to be present at all athletic events and practices. The commission must train appropriate school sports personnel in using the defibrillator.
