SB1056

Increasing number of children allowable in family child care home

Introduced·2/21/26
Intr Text

Increases the number of children allowable in family child care homes in West Virginia.

West Virginia SB1056 amends the Code of West Virginia to increase the total number of children allowable for informal family child care. Currently, informal family child care homes can care for up to three children, excluding those living in the household. The bill raises this limit to up to six children, still excluding those living in the household. This change aims to provide more flexibility and options for families seeking nonresidential child care services.
