West Virginia HJR13 proposes an amendment to the state constitution to establish term limits for members of the House of Delegates and the Senate. The amendment would limit any legislator to 12 consecutive years of service in the same chamber. This limit would begin on January 1, 2030, and would not count terms served before that date. If a legislator reaches the 12-year limit in one chamber, they cannot run for re-election in that chamber until one full election cycle has passed. However, they could run for election in the other chamber.
