West Virginia HB5565 establishes the State Election Poll Clerk Reimbursement Fund Account to provide county poll clerks with a $100 per day stipend for each day they work during early voting and/or election day for general elections. County clerks must remit individual invoices for these stipends to the West Virginia Secretary of State for payment. The Secretary of State will disburse these payments from the newly created fund within the State Treasury. This bill aims to ensure poll clerks are compensated for their time and effort during election periods.
