Facilitates the participation of medical and mental health providers in juvenile abuse and neglect cases.

This bill amends the Code of West Virginia to facilitate the participation of medical, dental, and mental health providers in juvenile abuse and neglect cases. It mandates that within 30 days after a child is placed in the custody of the department, the department must identify and execute a release of records for each medical, dental, and mental health provider of the child to his or her school counselor. The bill also outlines procedures for temporary care, custody, and control of a child during the pendency of a child abuse and neglect case, including hearings and court orders.
