West Virginia HB5182 allows the State Treasurer to authorize security personnel to carry concealed weapons while performing official duties. To qualify, personnel must obtain written authorization, not be prohibited from possessing firearms, hold a concealed handgun license, and complete required firearms training and annual qualification. The state and its agencies are protected from liability for acts of authorized personnel performed in good faith. The State Treasurer may reimburse personnel for training costs.
