Clarifies campus police officers' leave days for retirement credit and corrects statutory provisions.

This bill amends the Municipal Police Officers and Firefighters Retirement System to clarify campus police officers' ability to use leave days for retirement credit. It specifies that officers hired before January 1, 2026, must inform the West Virginia Consolidated Public Retirement Board of their choice to participate in the system. Officers hired after January 1, 2026, must participate in the system. The bill also corrects provisions regarding the use of accrued leave days for retirement credit and ensures that officers cannot transfer service credit from other retirement plans.
