The bill mandates that health benefit plans issued or renewed after January 1, 2026, cover oral health procedures necessary due to cancer treatments. This includes evaluations, examinations, patient education, laboratory assessments, medications, treatments, restoration, rehabilitation, medical devices, and prosthesis needed to obtain cancer treatment or restore function related to eating, breathing, voice, speech, and swallowing. The Bureau of Medical Services and the Public Employees Insurance Agency are required to report on the cost of this change one year after implementation.
