Increases the Homestead Exemption for certain homeowners in West Virginia.

West Virginia HB4766 amends the Homestead Property Tax Exemption to allow the first $20,000 or 50% of the assessed value of a homestead for eligible homeowners. Eligible homeowners include those who are 65 years of age or older, or certified as permanently and totally disabled, and have resided in West Virginia for two consecutive years before the tax year. If the assessed value is less than $40,000, the exemption is capped at $20,000. The exemption also applies to military personnel who maintain West Virginia residency during and after service.
