Expands Medicaid coverage to include lymphedema compression treatment items and off-the-shelf orthopedic braces.
West Virginia HB4703 amends the Medicaid program to include coverage for lymphedema compression treatment items and off-the-shelf orthopedic braces. Eligible Medicaid enrollees diagnosed with lymphedema will receive coverage for items such as standard and custom-fitted gradient compression garments and lymphedema pumps. Similarly, those diagnosed with orthopedic issues requiring braces will receive coverage for both custom-fitted and off-the-shelf orthopedic braces. The Bureau for Medical Services may need to seek federal approval to implement these changes.
