West Virginia HB4506 amends the State Police Retirement System to allow members to use accrued annual or sick leave days to acquire additional credited service toward retirement. Each leave day is equivalent to eight hours of leave. Members entering the system after July 1, 2015, can use leave days to gain extra service, with each day counting as two workdays' credit. The credited service does not exceed 12 months per year.
