Limits county responsibility for jail costs to 30 days for felony inmates awaiting state transfer.

This bill amends the Code of West Virginia to limit a county's responsibility for jail costs to 30 days from the date of incarceration for inmates awaiting transportation to a state correctional facility for a 60-day evaluation period. The base per diem rate for inmates is set at $54.48. Counties are responsible for costs incurred by the Division of Corrections and Rehabilitation for housing and maintaining inmates who are pretrial or convicted misdemeanants.
