HB4133

Defining a work day for school service personnel and removing a provision relating to employment of licensed practical nurses

Introduced·1/14/26
Intr Text

Defining workday and half workday for school service personnel and removing a provision relating to employment of licensed practical nurses.

This bill amends the Code of West Virginia to define a workday and a half workday for school service personnel. A workday is defined as eight hours worked with a duty-free 30-minute lunch, and a half workday is defined as four hours worked. It also removes a provision relating to the employment of licensed practical nurses. The bill ensures that service personnel are not required to work more than five days per week without their agreement and that no part of any working day may be accumulated by the employer for future work assignments unless the employee agrees otherwise in writing.
