Intr Text

West Virginia HB4112 provides a tax credit for parents or guardians who homeschool or enroll their children in private school.

West Virginia HB4112 introduces a tax credit for parents or legal guardians who provide home or private schooling for their children. This credit is equivalent to the annual amount a student would receive for the HOPE Scholarship. The credit applies to tax years starting from January 1, 2026, and is limited to the HOPE Scholarship amount per taxpayer, regardless of the number of children. Families already receiving the HOPE Scholarship are not eligible for this credit. The State Board of Education cannot impose additional regulations on children in these programs.
