Introduced Text

Establishes a family medicine residency training grant program to increase residency positions at community health centers.

The bill creates a family medicine residency training grant program to increase the number of family medicine residency positions at community health centers in underserved areas. The program aims to address the shortage of primary care physicians in rural and economically disadvantaged urban communities. The Department of Health will disburse grant funds to accredited family medicine residency programs in community health centers. The program will offer at least two first-year postgraduate residency positions in family medicine in the first year, and additional positions in subsequent years.
