Adds names of Washington state law enforcement officers who died in the line of duty to the state memorial.
The bill adds a new section to the Washington state law enforcement memorial to include the names of officers who died in the line of duty and were ruled as such by the United States Department of Justice under the Hometown Heroes Survivors Benefits Act of 2003. This addition applies retroactively for five years, covering officers who died on or after January 1, 2020. Once the Department of Justice makes a determination, the officer's name will be added to the memorial at the next update of the first wall.
