Limits monetary assistance for indigent individuals from the ignition interlock device revolving account program.
This bill amends the ignition interlock device program by limiting the monetary assistance an indigent person may receive from the ignition interlock device revolving account program. The assistance is restricted to the costs of installing, removing, and leasing an ignition interlock device in no more than two vehicles per person or, if more practical, two vehicles per household. The Department of Licensing must adopt rules to provide this assistance according to greatest need and when funds are available. The changes will take effect January 1, 2026.
