SB5212 allows for the filing of adjudication claims for precode uses of groundwater and surface water in WRIA 1 water rights adjudication.

SB5212 amends RCW 90.14.043 and 1985 c 435 s 1 to allow for the filing of adjudication claims for precode uses of groundwater and surface water in the WRIA 1 water rights adjudication. A person may file a claim if they obtain a certification from the pollution control hearings board. The board shall have jurisdiction to accept petitions for certification through September 1, 1985. A certification by the board or a filing with the department of ecology of a claim under this section shall not constitute a determination or confirmation that a water right exists.
