Lowers the blood alcohol concentration limit for driving under the influence in Washington.

This bill lowers the blood alcohol concentration limit for driving under the influence from 0.08 to 0.05. It also lowers the THC concentration limit for driving under the influence from 5.00 to 0.00. The bill increases penalties for repeat offenders and those driving with minors in the vehicle. It also requires courts to consider equity outcomes on overburdened communities when setting penalties. The Washington State Institute for Public Policy must evaluate the impacts of this act and report to the legislature by March 1, 2028.
