Allows port districts to use funds for zero and near zero emission cargo handling equipment.
This bill amends existing laws to allow port districts and port development authorities to use available funds for purchasing zero and near zero emissions cargo handling equipment and related infrastructure. It prohibits the use of these funds for fully automated marine container cargo handling equipment, which is defined as equipment that can be remotely operated or monitored, with or without human intervention. The changes made by this bill will expire on December 31, 2031.
