Washington HB2641 adds a new section to state law prohibiting general and limited authority law enforcement agencies from hiring individuals who were sworn officers of U.S. immigration and customs enforcement on or after January 20, 2025. This prohibition applies only to future hires and does not affect those already employed by the agencies. The act, named the ICE out act of 2026, will take effect on October 1, 2026.
