Requires youth sports organizations to mandate annual child abuse and neglect reporting training for coaches.
Starting July 1, 2027, youth sports organizations must ensure each coach completes annual training on mandatory reporting of child abuse and neglect. The Department of Children, Youth, and Families will develop or contract for this training, making it publicly accessible. Youth sports organizations include private or public entities providing scheduled competitive or recreational sports for individuals under 18, excluding those incidental to non-athletic programs or lessons.
