Starting July 1, 2027, hospitals in Washington must offer influenza immunizations to inpatients aged 65 and older, and those with chronic health conditions, from October 1 to March 1 each year. This requirement applies unless the immunization is contraindicated for the patient. Offers to immunize must be based on the availability of the vaccine and recommendations from the advisory committee on immunization practices of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The Department of Health may adopt rules to implement this section.
