Washington HB2079 imposes additional taxes on wine, beer, and cider. It sets a tax rate of twenty and one-fourth cents per liter on wines, except cider. Cider is taxed at two and four one-hundredths cents per liter for sales before July 1, 1997, and four and seven one-hundredths cents per liter thereafter. The bill also mandates that all revenues from these additional taxes be deposited in the state general fund.
