Extends the expiration of certain school employee postretirement employment restrictions.
This bill amends the Washington State Retirement System to extend the expiration of certain postretirement employment restrictions for school employees. Specifically, it allows retirees to work up to 867 hours per year in eligible positions without a reduction in their pension benefits. The bill also allows retirees who reenter employment more than one month after their accrual date to continue receiving pension payments until they have rendered service for more than 1,040 hours in a calendar year.
