Allows middle housing in urban growth areas, rural development, and fully contained communities.
This bill authorizes middle housing in designated urban growth areas, limited rural development areas, and fully contained communities. It allows at least one middle housing unit on parcels permitting single-family residences in urban growth areas. In rural areas, it allows up to 4 residential units per lot, with sewer service required. The bill applies the same development permit and environmental review processes to middle housing as to detached single-family residences, unless state law requires otherwise.
