Washington HB1776 provides reimbursement for firearm background check fees charged during November 2024 when the secure automated firearms e-check (SAFE) background check system was unavailable. The Washington State Patrol firearms background check program will reimburse applicants who paid the fees and licensed dealers who covered the costs for applicants during that period. The reimbursement will be made from funds in the state firearms background check system account.
