The bill creates a work group to study and recommend wildfire mitigation and resiliency standards in Washington. The group will coordinate wildfire property mitigation standards with nationally recognized, science-based standards, enhance community-level wildfire mitigation, and share relevant data between state agencies and the insurance industry. Recommendations will include a grant program framework to decrease nonrenewals of insurance policies and increasing transparency with consumers regarding wildfire hazard and risk. The work group will submit a report by December 1, 2025.
