The bill authorizes the Department of Natural Resources to enter into contracts for payment for ecosystem service projects on public lands to generate additional revenue. Ecosystem services may be sold only if consistent with relevant laws and conditions. The bill creates the aquatic lands enhancement account for funds from the sale or lease of state-owned aquatic lands and from the sale of ecosystem services. The state treasurer must distribute funds to the counties four times per month.
