Delays the use of updated ASAM Criteria for substance use treatment in Washington until 2028.
HB1469 amends the criteria for using updated ASAM Criteria in Washington's Medicaid and insurance programs. It delays the implementation of the 4th edition of the ASAM Criteria for treating substance use disorders until January 1, 2028. The Health Care Authority and the Office of the Insurance Commissioner must jointly decide whether to adopt updated versions of the ASAM Criteria and, if so, when they should be implemented. Both agencies must post their decisions on their websites.
