Washington HB1188 amends existing law to require the Energy Facility Site Evaluation Council to report recommendations for wind and solar energy facility siting to the governor, local government, and affected tribes. The governor cannot approve an application without local and tribal approval. The council must expedite processing for applications filed before December 31, 2025, for facilities in counties with coal-fired electric generation facilities.
