Repeals the Autism Advisory Council and establishes an Autism Advisory Commission with new membership and duties.
The bill repeals the existing Autism Advisory Council and establishes a new Autism Advisory Commission. The Commission will consist of nine legislative members and three nonlegislative citizen members, including representatives from autism advocacy organizations and parents of children with autism. The Commission will facilitate coordination of services among agencies, monitor implementation of action plans, recommend policies and funding, and examine service delivery in other states. The Commission will submit an annual report to the Governor and the General Assembly.
