Enhanced retirement benefits for animal control officers in Virginia.
Virginia SB154 amends the Virginia Retirement System to provide enhanced retirement benefits for full-time animal control officers. These benefits apply to service earned on or after July 1, 2027. Employers may also offer these benefits for service earned before this date. The enhanced benefits include a retirement allowance and other retirement benefits, subject to certain conditions and actuarial adjustments.
